You may not have an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus on pre-order, however you can give your current iPhone 4s or later a little facelift. Today Apple has released iOS 8 for download, two days before releasing two new devices. Below are a few simple steps to take to ensure you’re ready for the latest version.
Check Your Device
Unfortunately, not all “i” devices are compatible. To get iOS 8, you must have an iPhone 4s or later, iPad 2 or later, or iPod Touch 5G and on.
Back It Up
Don’t risk loosing your precious photos, videos or contacts that you won’t be able to get back. Plus your device into a laptop or computer and make sure you’ve backed it up. Usually, plugging in your device will automatically open iTunes at which point you select “Backup Now” and voila!
iOS 8 requires at least 1GB of free space. If you don’t have the room, check your ‘Settings’ >> ‘Usage’ and see what you can delete.
Allow the Time
Downloading the latest operating system can sometimes take hours. Plug your device into a power source and connect to WiFi before you begin download.
You’re now able to enjoy the best new features iOS 8 has to offer.
