It’s official – iPhone 5 is here! Incipio has a quick recap of Apple’s 9/12 Announcement.

First off, the iPhone 5 is now the thinnest Smartphone on the market. The screen is larger (4in” diagonally with a 16:9 aspect ratio), allowing the addition of a fifth row of app icons on the home screen and more screen space above the keyboard. Black bars will be added on top/bottom of the screen to accompany older apps not built to the new screen size. There is improved color saturation, 18% more pixels than the 4S Retina display on 4S, and touch sensors built into the display to reduce glare. Find out more details after the jump…

Talk about ultra-fast wireless! The iPhone 5 is 4G LTE compatible, and the A6 chip gets twice the performance of the A5 to stream content smoother and faster. Improved battery life includes 8 hrs 3G talktime/ 3G browsing; 8hrs LTE browsing; 10 hrs Wi-Fi browsing; 10 hrs video; 40 hours Music; 225 hrs of standby.

And what a beauty… The iPhone 5 is available in White with Silver back, and Black with a Slate backing. Video improvements include the iSight Camera’s 8 megapixel lens, dynamic low light mode, sapphire lense, 1080P HD video, and built-in Panorama, among others. iPhone 5 includes 3 microphones (bottom, front, back), noise-cancelling wideband audio, and the new, smaller Lightening Connector – digital 8 signal and it’s reversible.

The new iOS 6 (available 9/19) is full of too many new features to name! …Here are just a few iOS 6 features found on the new phone: New Maps application with flyover effect, 3D and Siri turn by turn directions, Siri upgrades, Passbook virtual wall application, shared photo streams, and tons more.

Luckily, there was no jump in pricing from the iPhone 4S launch to the iPhone 5 launch: $199 – 16GB; $299 – 32GB; $399 – 64GB; no 128GB available. Product releases 9/21, with pre-orders starting 9/14. iPhone 5 will ship to 100 countries and over 240 carriers by the end of the year.
