WHY SAY “YES” TO THE NEW IPAD PRO (2018)?

We get it; it’s hard to keep up with the latest technologies and devices constantly being released. Apple makes it especially tough because they always manage to knock it out of the park with their product launches—which means you’re that much more tempted. While it may not be realistic for you to purchase every device Apple comes out with, it’s totally worth the splurge to get a device when it’s really good. And the new iPad Pro (2018) is definitely that. We’ll explain why:

  1. TWO NEW IPAD PRO MODELS

The new design of iPad Pro (2018) comes in two sizes so you can pick which best suits you. Both have an all-screen design (more on that below), so no matter which size you select, having a big enough screen won’t be an issue.

Here’s the size and price breakdown (prices will vary depending on if you choose WiFi only or WiFi + cellular):

11-inch iPad Pro: 64GB starting at $799 | 256GB starting at $949 | 512GB starting at $1,149 | 1TB starting at $1,549

12.9-inch iPad Pro: 64GB starting at $999 | 256GB starting at $1,149 | 512GB starting at $1,349 | 1TB starting at $1,749

  1. BYE-BYE HOME BUTTON

One of the most talked about changes in the iPad Pro (2018) is the omission of the home button, previously synonymous with iPad design. But it’s a really good change. No home button allows this new iPad Pro to keep up with Apple’s latest tech and capabilities, like incorporating Face ID and a bigger, more impressive display. (Keep reading to learn more about those.)

  1. HELLO FACE ID

Just like the new iPhone Xs models, iPad Pro (2018) moved away from Touch ID and added Face ID as the standard. Now you can unlock your new iPad Pro and make purchases with Apple Pay using the built-in facial-recognition technology instead of your fingerprint. And Face ID works whether you’re holding the iPad Pro in landscape or portrait mode.

  1. THE THINNEST IPAD YET

At only 5.9mm—for both models—this is the thinnest iPad ever released! And, according to Apple, the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro has “a massive 25 percent reduction in volume”.

  1. “ALL-SCREEN” DISPLAY

With a Liquid Retina display that goes edge to edge, round corners and no more home button, the new iPad Pro really is “all screen”. But this bigger screen doesn’t mean a bigger device (compared to its predecessors)—as mentioned above, these new models are still thinner. Plus, the advanced display is Apple’s “brightest and most color accurate iPad display, featuring wide color support, True Tone and anti-reflective coating”.

  1. SAME NEW GESTURE NAVIGATIONS AS iPHONE X

The same gesture-based tech you love on iPhone X is now on the new iPad Pro. And without the home button, it makes perfect sense. Now you can just swipe to access everything you need, like notifications, the Control Center, dock and more.

  1. POWER IN & POWER OUT

Another new feature to iPad Pro (2018) is the integrated USB-C port, which replaces the Lightning connector from previous models. With this new port, you can charge your iPad Pro, connect to an external display or camera and even charge your iPhone with a USB-C to Lightning cable.

  1. PROCESSOR UPGRADE

Apple always impresses with its processor upgrades. The iPad Pro (2018) has a new, powerful eight-core A12X Bionic chip that gives it impressively fast app performance and 2x faster graphics for a more immersive way to play games. According to Apple, A12X provides a single-core performance that is “up to 35 percent faster” and up to a “90 percent boost” in multicore performance.

  1. “ALL-DAY” BATTERY LIFE

Even with the fast A12X Bionic processor and advanced capabilities on the iPad Pro (2018), battery life doesn’t suffer—you can still get 10 hours on a single charge (depending on your usage and settings).

  1. COLOR OPTIONS

Take your pick from Apple’s classic colors. Both the 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro are available in Silver and Space Gray.
