At today’s ‘Spring Forward’ Apple announcement, the company unveiled the new MacBook and announced dramatic updates about the long awaited Apple Watch.
With an impressive new form factor, Apple’s new MacBook is a stunning device with a full width keyboard and 12″ display boasting edge to edge glass on its vivid retina display. The updated track pad includes new tricks like force touch control. The fan-less notebook results in a silent experience with internal contoured battery cells running at 35% more efficient than any previous MacBook. Available in a brilliant gold, as well as silver and space gray, the new MacBook is the first to be designed with a USB-C port, supporting power, USB, HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA. Shipping April 10th, the new MacBook has an introductory price of $1299, with a higher end $1599 model also available.
Game of Thrones fans also have reason to be excited from this morning’s event. Aside from an exciting trailer of the upcoming season, HBO CEO Richard Plepler announced HBO Now. The monthly subscription service will be available for $14.99 and will stream all HBO shows, launching with the Apple TV at an all new lowered cost of $69.
Calling it “The most personal device we have ever created”, Tim Cook detailed the various functions of the Apple Watch. ‘Glances’ will allows users to check their most frequent notifications, including date, weather, meetings and heart rate, while ‘Digital Touch’ enables Apple Watch users to share sketches, heart beat and more. For added convenience, Apple Watch is also compatible with Apple Pay and Siri.
Coming in three very different versions – Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition – will range in price from $349 to a staggering $10,000, with pre-orders and in-store previews beginning April 10th.
