Whether your career takes you around the world or keeps you right at home, one thing is for sure – your device never has enough battery. Between capturing photos, making phone calls, streaming music, answering emails, booking appointments, researching the web, consuming social media, downloading driving directions, and the occasional game of Candy Crush, our phones are no longer an accessory, but a tool. Equipping users with the power their devices so desperately require, Incipio is proud to offer a leading assortment of portable battery solutions, with something for every device. Our #TakeCharge Ambassadors are real-life users of Incipio power products, documenting how they go the extra mile thanks to extended battery from the offGRID Battery Case.
Florida photographer Jimmy Fashner has a thing for symmetry. With an eye for capturing shots that could each be a postcard, his iPhone 6 is powered by the offGRID Express Battery Case. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m a Florida boy who is addicted to photography & adventure!
Where do you call home? Best thing to do there?
I was born right here in St. Petersburg, Florida & absolutely love this city. It’s blossomed so much in the past 10 years. Aside from hanging in our beautiful downtown area, you have the gulf beaches. A lot of time is spent hanging by the water in one form or another.
How long have you been doing photography?
Instagram sparked my interest in photography. But it wasn’t until about 3 years ago that I fell in love with it.
What essentials are in your photo bag at all times?
I just started shooting with a DSLR last Christmas, thanks to my girlfriend. So my Nikon D3200, various lenses like my new 50mm that I’m smitten over, tripods, iPhone 6 Plus fitted with the Incipio NGP case, my trusty Olloclip, and my Incipio offGRID Charger.
Whose work inspires you?
Inspiration comes from all over the place. But I’m inspired by a lot of local photography friends for the most part. I feel like I have taken bits and pieces of a variety of styles and over time, made them my own. I feel like my style is constantly evolving.
You have over 38,000 Instagram followers and growing everyday. What are your top three tips for amateur photographers?
Composition, composition, composition! Composition is everything. Once you begin to understand that, everything else just falls into place. Location, location, location! I have spots for everything…sunset, sunrise, street photography, portrait sessions, you name it. Just getting out and exploring is more than half the fun. And lastly, ask lots of questions. I’ve found that the photography community (mostly Instagram community) is more than happy to share tips & tricks. I wouldn’t be where I am today, if I was afraid to ask questions.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be doing?
Good question. I work at a rehabilitation center for homeless people with substance abuse issues. So probably something along the lines of substance abuse counseling.
Tell us about a time the offGRID Express Battery Case came in clutch.
Anytime I’m adventuring in the great outdoors, it’s come in handy. It’s so nice to have the freedom to explore without having to worry about how much juice is left on my iPhone. It’s saved the day countless times.
Any exciting trips on the horizon?
I’m wanting to explore 5 Florida springs in 5 days. So I’m just starting to plan for that.
